It's SNOWING!!!!

It’s snowing!!! It would appear that winter has moved autumn to one side for the moment and summer will be next year again!

I woke up this morning to see the first snowflakes of the season. The latest weather front brings snow to as low as 900m. Temperatures have dropped well into minus figures (down to -9 at 1800m) and are only just hovering above zero at 1000m.

It is freezing..and after being for 2,5 week in 34 degrees it is a shock to the system. But very exciting!

Well my weekend is plannend, off to the cave to get my ski's, boats etc ready and go for a walk this afternoon in the snow! :-)

The new website is launched

Finally after hard work, planning etc. the new website WITH THE NEW CHALET is launched. We are so proud that we have secured Chalet Julien for coming winter(s) & summer(s). We went up there a week ago to have a look around and the views are just fantastic. The view from the hot tub is the best...we can;t wait to serve champagne and canapes to our guests!

Bookings are already coming in...and we are very happy to see many of our previous guests - now all friends coming back. With the new chalet and facilities and many extra's we will be doing coming winter it is going to be a great success!!! Bring on winter.

Summer here is great, there are so many things to do...I swim as much as I can with the "ladies" swimming club" 1 km in the Morzine pool. We walk a lot with the dogs, cycle and catching up with friends and family and entertaining guests, cooking etc. in Chalet Peillex.

Phil has been mountainbiking.....and had a few weeks ago his first real crash! I had to pick him up in Chatel (45 minutes from the chalet). His bike was damaged and not to speak about Phil himself. He was in a bit of a state (more ego I think). The savlon, paracetamol's were a hot item.

We also (with the dogs) have moved into our new appartment in St jean D'aulps and it is lovely to have our own home now, own furniture etc.

In a few weeks we will be going to the UK for 1 week and then (after 2 years!!!!) we are off on holiday. Both are very excited about this as we both don't really know what the meaning of "on holiday" is! haha. We are going to Thailand and will be travelling around the islands. Many of our friends here in the valley have been there and it is very good to know where to go and what to do to safe time! And we will be able to catch up with friends in the UK as we will be staying there for 1 more week after we are back.

The new chalet

We are very proud to give you a preview of the new chalet...we are in the middle of changing the website and this will be launched soon.

The service we provide will be the same as this winter season (fully catered and INCLUDING transfers from and to Geneva).













For this summer we still have Chalet Peillex but from the 1st of december 2008 we will be opperating from Chalet Julien.
Chalet Julien (the new addition) is a beautiful chalet in St Jean D'aulps - 10 minutes from Morzine and it's fully equiped with all mod cons to make your stay more comfortable. Chalet Julien is a real mountain retreat with amazing views, 5 minutes from the local ski area - 10 minutes to the Ardent lift (which brings you directley into Avoriaz / Switzerland). To give you an idea:

- Five beautiful bedrooms with all mod cons such as integrated entertainment system, Egyptian cotton, Molton Brown products etc. (sleeps 8 to 12 people).

- Hot tub and steam room (inside)

- Two separate seating areas, one by the fire & one on the mezzanine with a large cinema TV screen
- Exquisitely furnished - very homely!

Last day of the season party - Chez Flo - Avoriaz

The winter season 07 -08 is finished...and we had a "little" party to celebrate this last sunday at Chez Flo in Avoriaz..and what a day was that. Everybody was talking about it and how glad were we that we booked a table. There was a band, good food, wine, snowball fights - great company - all by all a very good day on the mountain!! It is a real shame that we can't ski anymore - but the sun is out, it is getting warmer and we are very much looking forward to the summer.......

Some more excited news.....we have found the most amazing chalet with all the "trimmings" like a hot tub, steam room etc. We are now in the proces of updating the website for coming season and this will be launched soon..with all the info about the new mountain retreat - so keep an eye out on the website.

what a season...

Have had the best day's skiing the last week. The sun is out - loads of snow, warm, relaxing..what do you want more.

It was my birthday last thursday (34...oooch)! And we had a great time, went out for lunch in the sun and in the evening we hit the "town" St Jean D'aulps for a few beers.

Next week (from tomorrow) we have 5 day's off - what are we going to do with our time..??? The following week we are fully booked - and then I think it is time to "lock up" the chalet and have some down time on the slopes. I call it my ski holiday...hahaha.

We got loads of plans for next winter...some cracking deals, activity weeks...etc.etc. As soon as the info is finalized I will post it all on the blog.

Summer is coming, the birds are out and the trees are getting their green colour back...can;t wait to walk around in a pair of shorts and a tshirt. We are offering for summer B&B as well as fully catered...and we are offering (for the first year) self catering weeks. For more information - just drop me an email and I get you the prices over!!!

All good here in France...very busy - which is good..and the best news is that there is LOADS of snow on it's way...all very exciting. Specially on saturday it is going to "dump"..
The season this year is really good...conditons are fantastic...

At the moment we got "the Boys" in..(Phil's friends from school) and today was their first day on the mountain.....I had to pick 1 up at 15:30 this afternoon with a broken collar bone!!!! Not good..he is full on the painkillers and keeps smiling!!!!!
