Walking on the Pleney in Morzine

The pleney is perfect for walking. We took the Pleney cable car up and had a walk there..The views were amazing..as you can see on the picture...

Jo and Izzy had a great time as the could run around on the grass!! And what an energy these 2 got!! There is a restaurant on the top that serves the most amazing burgers! The walk down is very pleasant as you walk through trees and some houses.

Our youngest satisfied customers

Phil's sister + family came over to stay with us for the week. We had such a good time with them, they went to the swimming pool, Geneva, Avoriaz, Pleney for lunch and had lots of walks..And the dad even managed to squeeze in a concert "Tribute to U2" in Avoriaz.

The chalet lends itself perfectly for little once to have a great holiday. The open spaces, bar (for dinner and or lunch) were well used! The mezzanine with the dolls house & train set were a real bonus and both spent a lot of time on there playing with it. It is ideal as the parents good keep a close eye on them and relax in the lounge.

We can't wait for them to come back so they all can play in the snow..and for Izzy it would be fantastic if we can get her on a pair of ski's...so when she is older she can come and stay with us and ski for the week!! It is very quite not having them around anymore...but we are already looking forward seeing them again in the chalet!!

Pictures!

Lots of things happened this week. We are very busy with the preparations for the ski show in October..
The weather has been great for the last 2 days..this PM we had 30 degrees!

Went to Yvoire for the day as well. That was definitely worthwhile..beautiful town and lots to see. It is on lake Geneva and only 1 hour away from the chalet.

Also we had a lot of rainfall this week with some chilly day's..At one point the snowline dropped and we managed to see some snow from our balcony..JOEHA let the snow comes...! During one of those rainy moments..we had the most looking stunning view at one point from our terras!! The rainbow came through and with the sun on the mountaintop it as one of the nicest things I have ever seen...

Update

Lots and lots has happened over the last week..

Saturday afternoon I looked out of the window and I though a helicopter was about to land in our garden!! Never seen anything like it...was amazing!! The thing was hovering in front of our chalet and was preparing for a landing on a grass bit next to our chalet. Looking back it wasn't a very nice thing as the road between us and Seytroux was blocked off due to an accident!! But all by all a pretty amazing experience to see this thing close up...and I now understand that it is every boys dream to fly one of those things!!

In the evening we went to Lake Montriond for the yearly fireworks spectacle!! And what an experience...the best fireworks I have ever seen...Unfortunately we were later then planned and therefore we had to park our car in the centre of Montriond to eventually climb a 2,5 kilometer hill to get to the lake!! Arrived..very HOT!! We walked into a wall of lovely smells of sausages, chips and beer...We paired up with friends on the site of the lake to wait for the fireworks to start. Lots of people were there with picnic baskets etc.

The evening started with parapenters who landed near the lake, of course some of them landed IN the lake and even one of those chaps decided to sit in a canoe..BUT one of them released himself from his harness (midair) and did a free fall for meters....I thought I was an eye witness of somebody on a suicide mission.. MY GOD! But it was all for the show and another parapent opened up and he landed safely!!

We met up with some other friends and listened to the band and had a few more beers before I started to "wobble" back to the car!! (hurt my knee during the "parapenting suicide mission".. as I jumped up when it happened and hurt my knee. For a moment I really though I broke something and had difficulties walking ..but after a few beers and some movement (no I didn't dance!!!!) I was OK. Took it slowly yesterday and I am fine again!

We also got some VERY exciting business news for coming winter...which we are finalizing at the moment. And we will get back to you on that this week!!

Also we got some long weekends of skiing available and we get a lot of people interested in that!
The weather has been great for the last few day's..but last week we had rain for 2 solid days. Which is good as the snow line dropped to 2000 metres and we were able to see snow on the mountain tops.
Locals here in St Jean told us that the more moist in the air during the summer the better the winter season is going to be. So by the looks of things we are heading for a fantastic winter season with lots and lots of snow. This area is popular for very good snow and the snow history doesn't lie!!

Can't wait for the winter to arrive!!!

Weather has been amazing the last few weeks. Today is the first time that we have clouds and rain..but thankfully only for 1 day.

Phil's parents have been here for a few day's. We had a great time with them and we sampled a local restaurant L'Amandier in St Jean D'aulps. Delicious food and excellent service. The serve fantastic steaks, meat and cheese fondue's, pizza's etc. We are definitely going back there soon..

We have been to the swimming pool on Monday and it was very nice...we had a nice swim in the big pool and there are 2 more pools for children, with slides etc.
