Living in the French Alps

Just got back from an escaped horse!! Phil was running this morning and we have got a horse living in a field nearby..The horse had enough and escaped out of his field..

I went down there and with help of 2 locals..we managed to get the horse back in the field..Great start of the day! He is lovely and very calm and with my previous horse experience it wasn;t that difficult..More amusing to be honest.

Today I go with a good friend to Montreux to pick up their daughter from boarding school. Very much looking forward to it..as Montreux is only 1,30 hours away and a fantastic place to go to. Lot's of restaurants, shops etc. and it is very famous for the Montreux jazz festival (which takes place every year in August)!

AND...MOST IMPORTANT: We went up to Avoriaz with Otto to enjoy the snow...as you can see on the pictures..Local's are cutting up their wood for the fireplace as the winter is coming. At this moment in time it is 4 degrees and cold. Yesterday we had the fireplace on..and it looks great. Very warm and relaxing. Can;t wait for the snow to arrive in St Jean D'aulps!!!

Mont Blanc Race & grazy French lady

We had a great weekend..one our good friend Elodie came over for 1 night!! I haven't laughed so much for a long time.

We went during the day to the town center of Morzine - Mont Blanc race was on and it was very busy car's everywhere. In the evening we got other friends over and we all watched the Rugby & football..

In the evening we all went to de "L'amandier" in St. Jean D'aulps. Best restaurant in the valley. It was really nice as we walked from the chalet (was only 15 minutes) and enjoyed a great gourmet dinner. I had smoke trout salad & duck and cheese as dessert. Elodie deciced to walk into the kitchen to thank the chef personally (we all had a menu and Elodie wanted ofcourse something different "Steak tartare" which she managed to get for the menu price!!!

The following day to Lake Montriond as the weather was amazing (and still is). Otto had his regular swim. We couldn't walk him for 2 days as he hurt is foot..therefore he needed to loose some energy..which he did.

The bookings and enquiries are coming in for the winter. So if you are still looking to book a holiday with us - hurry up otherwise you might be too late! Also the ski and snowboard is taking shape, busy with designing our brochures etc. It is going to be a big success this year as the show (exhibitors) is completely sold out!!! Very much looking forward to it. If you fancy a vin chaud then pop over to our stand!

Nederlandse website!!!! (Dutch website)
