The Portes du Soleil boasts the largest ski domain in the world and the region is now recognised as a leading destination for mountain biking, rock climbing and summer activities, the majority of which run throughout the year.

 

Nestling only minutes away from the slopes of the “La Grand Terche” in St Jean d’Aulps, Chalet Julien is the luxury mountain retreat for our guests. As recognised in the 2007 Daily Telegraph Best Chalets the 200 year old converted barn has been sympathetically restored to a high specification and is home to you for the duration of your stay.

 

Whilst the chalet maintains a number of original features, the spacious terrace housing the hot tub with unspoilt views down the valley, the indoor steam room helping to nurse those aching muscles and the in-room plasma screens with integrated entertainment system should you prefer to put your feet up, ensure there is no shortage of creature comforts

 

An hour and a quarter transfer from Geneva airport maximises the time that is spent in the resort and increases the potential for long weekends.  As Geneva is becoming an increasingly more popular destination for a number of budget airlines one no longer needs to be limited to one outing a year.  Therefore, long weekends for special occasions, breaks without the children or a special treat for the kids are now a possibility.

 

Your hosts at Chalet Julien, and founders of Momentum, are Phil and Majorie. Phil is English and worked for many years in business development roles. Majorie is Dutch and has got a background in hospitality management.

 

After years of both working in sales, they decided in '06 that they wanted to move to the French Alps and start their own chalet business. Both have a great passion for food, cooking, wine, entertaining and skiing. They have set up home in St Jean D'aulps and are looking forward to continuing to provide you with the highest level of service.
